Delta

<p>DELTA. A new collection of poetry by the Danish poet and writer Lene Henningsen. <br>A poetic exploration of the world's great river deltas - in France Michigan Siberia - has shaped the poems in DELTA. The poet began searching for a new language that could convey the unique untamed reality and nature of the deltas: <br>- their teeming life and land that appears and disappears in the water currents <br>- their hospitality towards countless bird and animal species <br>- their connection to people and civilisations via rivers and water reservoirs <br>- their biology connected to human biology - their future tied to the future of humankind. <br>What happened was that language withdrew into a poetic minimalism leaving enough space for the delta's abundant life transformation history and memory.<br>And the poems seek time and again in the delta's generous flow towards the sea to find room for the recurring confrontations with the state of the world with war destruction absurdity as they manifest themselves in nightmarish images and dreams.</p>
