Facebook Twitter Reddit. Social media is rife with fake news trolling and polarised political perspectives. The new ways in which individuals engage in political discourse as well as the platforms they use in doing so are transforming how politics is done around the world. This is proving to have a profound effect on the foundations of democracy. In this book design thinker and futurist Juho Santasalo explores the shortcomings of existing platforms and sets out to develop an online platform with the intent of providing a foundation for better political discussion online – and ultimately – a better functioning democracy in the digital age.
