Dental health economy involves collection of expenditure details for dental treatments and evaluates the utility benefit and effectiveness of the dental treatment provided. This type of health economic evaluation provides a chance for maximising the benefits from the available resources and also act as a useful guide in framing new policies for improving dental care utilization. Thus adoption of health economic evaluation is essential in both general and dental health. Unfortunately Indian health care system doesn’t have such organized economic evaluation in health system making it is necessary to evaluate and imply the importance of dental health economics in Indian health care system helping to bridge the gap between demand and supply in Indian Dental health Care.
