During the last two decades adhesive restorative dentistry has increasingly proven its tremendous clinical potential first in the anterior and more recently in the posterior segments of the mouth. Adhesive techniques have greatly expanded the horizon of aesthetic dentistry. The continued developments of adhesive materials are now focused on gaining a better understanding of factors affecting adhesion in the oral environment to improve the clinical longevity of restorative materials.
