DESERTS by Hugo Alfredo Hinojosa. translated and adapted by Caridad Svich. DESERTS interweaves the stories of illegal immigrants to take a bold look at the violence and poverty along the U.S./Mexico border. Through the stories of a mother and child undocumented workers and snipers and preachers the strength of the human spirit emerges from a struggle for survival. This translation/adaptation was commissioned and developed at the Lark New York City as part of the 2007 US/Mexico Playwright Exchange Program. This publication is a collaboration between NoPassport Press and the Lark.
