Design and Development of Magnetic Variable Transmission

A novel research in the evolving field of magnetic gears this work is a kick start for realizing variable-transmission magnetic gearing. Most of the published researches focus on designs of magnetic gears of fixed gear ratio. This research proposes several techniques to realize magnetic gears of variable gear ratio based on the principle of pole changing. All the developed techniques were validated by extensive finite-element-method simulations and one technique was validated by experiments on a prototype.
