Destiny beyond the Horizon : A Novel Based on a True Story

This is a heart-rending story of Bai Feng born on 18 January 1961 in China. The Bai family’s life became a shamble during the Cultural Revolution when the Red Guards accused them of being traitors; subjected them to verbal and physical abuses. Bai Feng’s mother committed suicide while her father was banished to the desert to build railroads. Bai Feng and her elder sister were sent to the rural area to do forced labor. Bai Feng swore to unshackle herself from the Communist regime and embarked on an arduous journey to Singapore where she was finally granted citizenship.
