Although adolescents face serious nutritional problems they were remain largely neglected age group because they were considered to be less vulnerable to disease than the young children or the very old and difficult-to-measure due to rapid changes in growth and development and a lack of consensus over which definition to use. Consequently their needs are often ignored. Assessing the nutritional status of adolescents is important as it would provide data that may help in prevention intervention and rehabilitation programs.
