Determinants of SME access to bank credit in Goma city

In many African countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo SMEs play a key role in economic growth and in the fight against unemployment and poverty. Unfortunately however few SMEs have access to bank credit. This prompted us to undertake a study of the determinants of SME access to bank credit in the city of Goma located in the province of Nord-Kivu in the DRC with a view to identifying the factors that positively influence commercial banks to grant credit to the few SMEs that do.
