About The Book

The book will give you insight about Molecular Microbiology of environmental Microbiomes particularly in soil ecosystem. The research includes analyzing different modes of bacterial metabolism (cbbL cbbM nifH amoA apsA dsrAB soxB apsA etc.) involved in biogeochemical cycling of nutrients using clone library and Real-Time PCR approach. The study of microbial diversity is crucial for the understanding of structure function and evolution of biological communities. The present study provides useful insight of comparative microbial community structure and the occurrence of potential autotrophic bacterial groups/pathways in different soil ecosystems. The carbon nitrogen and sulfur metabolic pathways are coupled together within the microbial cells and this is particularly true for the nutrient cycling of carbon and sulfur in autotrophs. These three processes are the predominant biogeochemical processes occurring on the surface of earth and play significant role in maintaining ecosystem health and sustainability. This study of gene targeted metagenomics established a paradigm for functional metabolic CO2 fixation potential.
