Developing a System Checking the Efficiency of Emergency Requirements

About The Book

The rise in urbanization has intensified emergencies in multi-story buildings with fires posing a major threat to occupants responders and structures. This research aims to assess emergency requirements' effectiveness by integrating evacuation simulations with occupant characteristics. A questionnaire in Iraq identified deficiencies in emergency requirement implementation using the Relative Importance Index. Findings highlight critical gaps explaining the escalation of fires into disasters. To address data-gathering constraints in simulations the study introduces a serious gaming approach combining BIM with an occupant simulator in Unity 3D. Results show that occupant characteristics impact evacuation time and proper emergency measures can enhance evacuation efficiency by up to 100% reducing mortality from 50% to 0% and aiding in better building design and emergency planning.
