Developing Oral Skills

This book has attempted at establishing the need for introducing changes in methodologies especially the oral skills. Even after having learnt English as a second language for twelve years in high schools learners at the tertiary level do not seem to have acquired the ability to use the language appropriately in different contexts. The question arises then “What should be done to overcome the shortcomings of the various methods adopted for language teaching?” As we all know the teaching of speaking skills has its own significance. As the present method of teaching do not cater to the learner’s needs completely the author has proposed some innovative teaching methodologies and proved their worth with the associated research studies.
