Developmental Child Psychology- Implications in paediatric dentistry

Human behaviour is complex and several factors affect the complexity of child behaviour especially in the dental setting. Dentistry for children can be demanding tumultuous and frustrating. At the same time it can be enriching satisfying and memorable. A child’s spontaneity honesty and sense of humor can provide the dentist a refreshing reprieve from the rigors of a daily routine. The time invested in building acceptable behaviour early in the child’s dental treatment experiences may make future dental treatment much more likely pleasant and successful.
