In The Caribbean Type 2 Diabetes Is One Of The Leading Health Problems Contributing Significantly To Morbidity And Mortality And Is More Common In Females Than In Males. The Republic Of Trinidad And Tobago (Republic T&T) Has One Of The Highest Incidences Of Diabetes Per Capita In The Western Hemisphere. In The Republic T&T Diabetes Is The Second Leading Cause Of Death And The Prevalence Rate Is Approximately 12% - 13%. Diabetes Is The Leading Cause Of Blindness And Limb Amputations In The Republic T&T.
