TRANSFORMING PRISONS by Dr. Kiran Bedi is an inspiring account of tenure as Inspector General of Tihar Prisons (1993-1995) where she revolutionized prison management and introduced transformative reforms. The book highlights with illustrations the deplorable conditions she inherited including overcrowding corruption violence unhygienic food lack of medical care and the exploitation of inmates.
