At a time when joining the army in India was predominantly the domain of martial races such as the Rajputs Sikhs Marathas Jats and others Lt Col Sirajuddin was perhaps the first officer in a fighting arm from the Dawoodi Bohra community. The narrative covers the trials and tribulations of a middle-class family in India during the sixties followed by his journey of more than two decades in the Indian Army.
