Ibrahim came to the U.S. from Nigeria on August 29 2000 to pursue higher learning. He perceived America as a place where he could seek greener pastures and acquire opportunities that his home country could not have offered him at the time. His ideas of the American high-life are abruptly contrasted with the harsh realities that he encountered on a daily basis.
