Diary of an Unheard Me: This Book Was Once a Child

This book is not a work of imagination; it is not a story I created it is the reality of a child lived. Each poem in these pages was born from moments when the child didn’t understand at the time of moments of fear confusion and silence. On the surface the child had what many would call a “normal” childhood a home a family schooling even privileges. But beneath all that was hurting. There was abuse. There was bullying. There was loneliness. And there was a child who was trying to be okay when nothing inside felt okay. This book gave the language for a survivor. This book is an acknowledgement for the child who was and for every child who didn’t have the words when it was happening.
