I CHOOSE TO BE A SURVIVOR NOT A VICTIM. After surviving a massive stroke I found that my faith and sense of humor kept my spirit flying high and I found every day I could choose to be happy or crabby. I chose happy and even when I didn't feel like it I still put on a happy face because after all nobody wants to be around a Debbie Downer. My entire left side was affected by the stroke so I decided I would try to make the most of it and started making fun of myself. Then my husband became very sick with pancreatic cancer and he decided his last journey did not have to be miserable but a peaceful meaningful journey. Of course there is no humor in cancer but there can be peace and I kept my husband in our bed and away from a hospital bed. It was my turn to wait on him the best I could with my limitations. I wrote this little book to try and encourage others to try and find humor in the midst of adversity.
