Differential diagnosis

About The Book

From the case of Andy the author offers us a novel reading about the clinic with deaf children. Children who are often diagnosed as autistic based on a sum of traits that coincide with the diagnostic manuals of mental health. The author proposes a psychoanalytical view of the child and the diagnosis. Starting from an interesting journey through the vicissitudes that the deaf community goes through in its access to language and historicizing on the value of language of the signs used by this community the author proposes a new look. A look at the subjectivity of the child which enables a new look at the clinic with deaf people.
