This paper proposes a novel methodology for interdisciplinary management of construction projects by integrating Building Information Modeling (BIM) to Lean philosophy. First the study presents a qualitative bibliographic review of BIM and Lean methods and tools. Afterwards the research describes the Digital Obeya Room model for continuous improvement of construction management. Lastly the work presents four empirical studies within production planning and control of industrial construction projects that evaluate the benefits of the new methodology. This paper contributes to predictability in planning improved integration among stakeholders and the increased usage of Lean and BIM for continuous improvement of engineering management.
