Dingus Monroe

<p>DINGUS MONROE is Jim Scot Book #41. In this book Dingus is now employed by X Group and is tasked with tracking down a rouge senator who has been selling government secrets to the Chinese for years and has also profited from pushing bills in Congress favoring various companies at a great reward for him. He also pilfered his own various campaign funds of a great amount of money.</p><p>He has a well-designed escape plan which he puts to use when he discovers someone has found out his misdeeds. The someone unknown to the senator is none other than Jim Scott who is working with X Group who Jim is the primary funder of. Also assisting in the search for the senator is Hector Garcia and a new employee of his who speaks a language necessary to assist in the search. The new employee retires from the Navy and the same day is hired by Hector per a prior agreement between the two men. The new employee is also engaged to be married the same day. Working with the head of the X Group those three also soon take up the hunt for the senator.</p><p>A senior aide to the senator is also deeply involved in the senator's misdeeds and takes flight as well as the senator but they do so separately. After some early digging Dingus goes after the aide in an effort to discover the name now being used by the senator.</p><p>Meanwhile the Chinese and Russians both send two-person teams to hunt for the senator while British MI6 assets assist the X Group hunters. In time with much less information to work with the Russians give up the hunt. However the Chinese are in the hunt until the end. At one point Hector with the aid of a MI6 agent works a deal with the Chinese team but is wise enough to know better than to fully trust the Chinese.</p><p>Early on in the hunt Dingus works with a married couple who both are members of X Group. On a visit to their home he meets a friend of theirs. Even though they are both up in years the 70s for Dingus and 60s for her they almost immediately hit it off and when the younger couple take off on a side matter to assist MI6 Dingus and his new lady friend wind up in bed together. That leads her to joining in the hunt to be with Dingus even though she has absolutely no experience in matters such as what Dingus is involved with. By the time the younger couple has taken care of a matter for MI6 Dingus and his lady friend have decided to wed but only after the senator is found.</p><p>Those four working as a team wind up coming to the same conclusion as Hector and the two with him do as to where the senator is likely to set up shop for a new life using a new name. When the two teams meet up and join forces more information comes in on the aide's plan and that is when Dingus with his new lady friend go after the aide...and the hunt goes on.</p>
