Dioscorea bulbifera: A Model System in Nanobiotechnology and Medicine

Dioscorea bulbifera is an immensely important medicinal plant which is extensively used in both Indian and Chinese system of traditional medicine. It is found in many parts of the world and has gained wide attention not only for health care but also as a food crop. Overall this work represents a detailed study of various therapeutic aspects of D. bulbifera along with its phytochemical analysis. The outcomes were found to be first reports of its kind which were published in the peer reviewed international journals emphasizing the scope of research to explore more bioactive principles from D. bulbifera and further evaluation of their therapeutic potential in order to add newer attributes to its therapeutic spectrum.
