HER-2/neu positive breast cancer is a distinct entity of breast cancer having different treatment options including targeted therapy like trastuzumab and patients can gain maximum benefit from this line of therapy. HER-2/neu receptor status should be checked in every breast cancer patient so that patients can be offered the best possible therapy for their disease. More studies must be conducted on larger scale so that better understanding of this particular subtype can be achieved.
