Co-teaching plays an important role in the New Middle School (NMS) system. This thesis therefore examines this topic with a particular focus on professional conduct in co-teaching. The analyses were conducted using semi-standardised expert interviews at two NMS locations in Austria. The aim of this thesis is to test four hypotheses on the following characteristics: shared attitudes and values in joint teaching characteristics of successful co-teaching close cooperation and joint problem solving and positive effects on teaching quality. All working hypotheses - with the exception of the third which could only be partially confirmed - were verified.
