This book discussed the basic principles of documentary evidence with particular reference to Nigeria in terms of statutory provisions. It also analyzed the relevant statutory provisions of other African countries such as Ghana Gambia Kenya and Uganda etc laws for contemporary comparative analysis. The relevant English common law principle of course formed the foundation and was therefore not neglected. Part 'B' of the work focused on vital issues touching on the law and practice of advocacy based inter alia on the provisions of the Nigerian evidence laws and general principle of advocacy. It considered the nature and psychology of litigation courtroom decorum and mannerisms the role of language and oratory in advocacy the various stages of trial examination-in-chief cross-examination re-examination hostile witness and final addresses. The book is a working manual for the trial lawyer.
