This children's picture book gives facts about mallard ducks and their following/imprinting behavior and what in one case did happen without a Mama Duck nearby when the baby ducklings hatched. This story also shows the wide range of rescued animals living peacefully together in an open space of land--and the animals' imagined conversations. In addition this story tells about one person and her incredible commitment to rescuing and caring for several species of animals for more than twenty years on her farmland in rural Ohio.</p>
