DOGS AND EMOTIONS

The present book pretends to know the emotional connection existing between human beings especially between children and dogs starting from a theoretical foundation which will help us to better understand our friends the dogs based on true and experiential data of children and pets of the School of Basic Education San Francisco Javier of the city of Loja with a sample of 90 children between 4 to 12 years of age was used the projective test of animals or drawing technique LADS that allowed to evaluate the emotions the instinctive the desires and conflicts of the children without need of words obtaining the following results: 93% prefer dogs as pets recognizing them as part of the family constituting a source of emotional support allowing the members of the household to manage their emotions in a positive way. The need to have a pet preferably a dog in their homes is evident because they increase their self-esteem confidence and empathy to a greater degree especially in these times of pandemic in which all families take care that their children do not leave their homes in order to preserve their health.
