Don Coyote

<p>Whitman Chambers (1896-1968) was an American author known for his work in pulp fiction particularly crime and mystery novels. Writing during the mid-20th century Chambers created fast-paced gritty stories often featuring hardboiled detectives complex moral dilemmas and seedy urban settings. His novels such as <em>The Night of Evil</em> and <em>Invasion</em>* exemplify the noir style that was popular during the era. Chambers also worked as a screenwriter in Hollywood contributing to several film adaptations of his works and other crime dramas. His writing reflects the dark suspenseful atmosphere of early American crime fiction.</p>
