Don Quixote of La Mancha

<p><em>Don Quixote of La Mancha</em> by Miguel de Cervantes is one of the earliest and most influential novels in Western literature. First published in two parts (1605 and 1615) it tells the story of Alonso Quixano a man so obsessed with tales of knights and chivalry that he decides to become one himself. Donning the name Don Quixote he sets out on a series of misadventures with his loyal but skeptical squire Sancho Panza.</p><p>Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra (1547-1616) was a Spanish novelist poet and playwright. Don Quixote is considered the first modern novel a classic of Western literature and is regarded among the best works of fiction ever written.</p>
