<p>This is a collection of 251 proverbs (91 illustrated) from Kannada a South Indian language with a 2000-</p><p>year literary history and cultural heritage.</p><p></p><p></p><p>___</p><p>Tonse Narayana Krishna Raju a pediatrician and a neonatologist who was Professor of Pediatrics at the</p><p>University of Illinois in Chicago has published five books of fiction and two translations in Kannada a</p><p>classical Dravidian language from Karnataka South India. In addition to his passion to study and teach</p><p>history of medicine Dr. Raju is extremely fond of proverbs. He has studied and published articles about</p><p>Jewish Arabic Irish and African proverbs. This is his first translation of South Indian proverbs into</p><p>English. He is currently working on another volume on the same topic. His published books in English</p><p>include: The Nobel Chronicles: A Handbook of Nobel Prizes in Physiology or Medicine 1901-2024 (Second</p><p>edition) and The Importance of Having a Brain and Other Stories from the History of Medicine (Expanded</p><p>Second Edition) both published by Auctorem House 2025; and Poems and a Novella by A.K.
