Doreen

<p><em>Doreen</em> C.J. Dennis' third publication extends on the narrative of <em>The Songs of a Sentimental Bloke</em>. It was first published by in October 1917 by Angus and Robertson.</p><p>The four tales in verse in <em>Doreen</em> describe the married life of the Bloke dramatising his communication and his conflicts with his little wife and illustrating their differences in raising young Bill but ultimately emphasising their domestic happiness.</p>
