Frank Baum. It reunites Dorothy with the humbug Wizard from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. In Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz Dorothy is joining Uncle Henry in California at Hugsons Ranch on their way home from Australia. She strikes up an acquaintance with Hugsons nephew and her second cousin Zeb. Dorothy her cat Eureka and Zeb are riding a buggy when an earthquake starts and opens a crevice sending them hurtling into the bowels of the earth. Dorothy Eureka Jim Zeb and the buggy find themselves in the land of the Mangaboos a vegetable people who accuse them of causing the Rain of Stones. Just as they are about to be sentenced to death a hot air balloon falls out of the sky and in the basket is the Wizard of Oz whom Dorothy last met as he floated away from the Emerald City. Lyman Frank Baum was an American author of childrens books best known for writing The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. He wrote thirteen novel sequels nine other fantasy novels and a host of other works. His works predicted such century-later commonplaces as television laptop computers wireless telephones and others.
