The Double Triadic Harmonic Concept is the result of my research in the field of music theory. I refer to six-part chords consisting of two superimposed harmonious triads of the basic types major minor diminished and augmented as double triads. They belong to the family of polychords and are closely related to the upper structure theory. Mathematically speaking there are 20736 ways to combine two triads. From these I systematically filtered out all those that are suitable for use in jazz harmony. In addition to music theory integration and a voicing catalogue with the most important chords the Double Triadic Harmonic Concept primarily offers practical application examples. How do you harmonise melody notes with double triads? How do you accompany a jazz standard with them? What possibilities do they offer in the areas of composition and improvisation?
