Down the Trails of Life

Have you ever looked “Down the Trails of Life” wondering how you arrived where you are? As you ponder the events crooked paths crowded streets all you see is the hand of God at work in the circumstances. You walked dark roadways where no one would enter to help. Your strength and sense of direction were gone and you felt as though you were alone in a mist barely knowing where to place your feet thoughts or emotions. But then something happens and you scream out in despair “Lord please lead the way. I am lost and don’t know who to turn to or where to go.” Then a sense of well-being and happiness floods your soul. This is not a moment of euphoria but a settling in your spirit that the Almighty God of the universe is real and has everything under His control. This collection of poems contains thought from years of challenges I faced growing up in a harsh cold world as a black youth. Some of the trials I faced were of my own making and some tailored and inherent by the society in which I lived. I lost my father at a noticeably young age and the loss of my mother a few years later was a sure-fire recipe for disaster. But God in His infinite mercy and patience sent strangers along my path. I will be ever so grateful for His love mercy kindness and salvation that came through His one and only Son Jesus Christ.
