Dowry Death: Need for Strengthening the Legislative Measures

In present scenario Dowry death can be considered as a big social issue in India. Nowadays in India dowry is a way of enjoyment for the bridegroom as well as for his family but at the same time it can also be considered as a curse for the bride’s family. In other words dowry is the property presents or expensive gifts like jewelry utensils furniture and cloths etc. a girl brings with her. In many cases a dowry request does not diminish even after marriage. Dowry is a curse in the society because many women’s commit suicide just to avoid the pressure of the dowry demand or torture and further insults by her husband or in-laws.
