<I>Dramas of Culture</I> is the first volume in the <I>TEXTURES: Philosophy/Literature/Culture</I> series to study drama as a cultural effect linking theatricality to main currents of continental philosophical thinking cultural critique and literary theory and interpretation-from Aristotle to contemporary cultural studies. The twelve interwoven interdisciplinary essays focus on the dramatic strategies deployed in cultural discourse and on the cultural meanings embedded in key dramatic writings in the Western repertoire.
