Drug abuse among adolescents: Risk Consequences and Prevention

One of the greatest problems the world is facing today is the use of illegal drugs and substances which has also become a major public health concern. The most favored are psychoactive substances which include tobacco alcohol illegal drugs and prescriptions. Most drug users started at a very young age (adolescent) then leading to dependence. Based on this problem different prevention programs have been used over the years to prevent drug use among adolescents. This programs aim to decrease the risk factors and in so doing enhancing the protective factors. In this study the general view on adolescents drug use analysis of its nature risk consequences and possible prevention are discussed.
