DRUG UTILIZATION EVALUATION IN CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE PATIENTS

The aim of the present work was to study the treatment pattern in the patients diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The total number of drugs the patient received during their treatment period 19.20% of antibiotics are given to the patients 18.70% of Corticosteroids 18.10% of Short acting beta -2 agonist 17.20% of Inhaled corticosteroids 15.50% Methyxanthines 6.90% of Systemic corticosteroids 4.10% of Long acting beta -2 agonist 0.30% of Secretolytic agents. According to route of administration the percentage was calculated as 23.70% of oral administrated drug 37.98% are parenterally administered 38.32% are inhalations.
