Bruno a cronically ill child lives in protective isolation and invents another child Tamarindo to play with. His doctor Florindo Soldi who besides medical care gives him understanding and love gains Bruno's trust and the little patient shares with him the adventures and emotions of the days spent with Tamarindo. The doctor weaves those stories into an intimate narrative about growing up and leaving childhood behind.
