After the onset of a neurological condition Nate Cannon got back in touch with the body that betrayed him--and the boy he knew he was supposed to be when he was a child. Facing multiple setbacks that amplified his mental illness Nate came close to dying by suicide. Only after losing nearly everything was he able to get the green light to proceed with his gender transition. Embracing his gender identity led him to form a new life and rebuild relationships including with his mother. His story is by turns harrowing heartbreaking and inspiring.
