E-Government Procurement: Decision Matrix for Project Success in India
English

About The Book

Research indicates that up to 25% savings can accrue to Indian Government by migrating to E-Government Procurement (E-GP). This optimization of public procurement (valued 3.4% to 5.7% of Indian GDP) would have significant impact on overall efficiency in government spending. However E-GP projects like any other e-Gov project have 70% chances of failure. This book covers the research which employed mixed methods to examine stage-wise importance of 11 critical success factors (CSF) (identified through literature review) in E-GP project outcome. The research employed Qualitative Study in ‘Completeness’ and ‘Corroboration’ role to Empirical Study. Questionnaire survey of the stakeholders involved with E-GP system in India was undertaken. Regression analysis and mean score was employed to empirically test research hypotheses. Empirical study findings was synthesized with findings of E-GP case studies. The study brought out India specific CSF based parameters for managerial decision making as a guide for the E-GP project managers. As one of the few studies conducted on stage-wise analysis of CSFs in E-GP domain the study contributed significantly to existing knowledge base.
