Earthquake hazard assessment using probabilistic models

About The Book

North East India and adjoining region are highly vulnerable to earthquake hazard. This book is designed to study the structure of earthquake hazard and seismic risk analysis for North East India and adjoining region using earthquake catalogue of 1897-2007.The study region has been divided into four main seismogenic zones according to Dutta (1964) for detail seismogenical investigation. The Lognormal Weibull Gamma and Exponential Probability models have been used to ascertain the distribution of event of each region. The estimation seismic risk for northeast India and adjoining region and four zones is done by three methods namely Gumball''s method Knopoff and Kagan method and Bury method.
