<p>George Barr McCutcheon (1866-1928) was an American novelist best known for his popular <em>Graustark</em> series which features tales of adventure romance and political intrigue set in a fictional European kingdom. McCutcheon's novels were widely read in the early 20th century with <em>Brewster's Millions</em> being one of his most famous works adapted several times for film and stage. Known for his light escapist fiction McCutcheon's stories often centered on themes of wealth adventure and the contrast between American and European cultures.</p>
