Born into a small farming community during the depression Don saw his share of hardship and struggle. With that experience in mind he interviewed countless 'old timers' and people around the community to get his stories. Starting in 1976 with the Curry County Times and ending in 2010 with the Clovis News-Journal Don had over a thousand columns published.
