Economic Integration in East Africa

This study is the first in its kind to identify major policy areas (trade security roadways and power) that have been speeding up the integration efforts of both Ethiopia and Kenya. As a case study the findings of this research may serve as a model for other countries or regional organizations across Africa to discern their problems and find effective means of integration. Regional Economic groupings are believed to be the building blocks of Continental integration.The Book gives an insight into the significance of integration since the current global trend is in favor of the creation of regional economic groupings. In order to curb balkanization neo-colonialism underdevelopment and the adverse effects of globalization Pan Africanist scholars prescribe economic integration. It is a means to put an end to civil war drought famine mal-administration corruption ethnic conflicts and all other forms of development hassles in the continent. Integration is a vehicle to a freer safer and more prosperous Africa.
