In an economy that is essentially extroverted right down to the level of convenience foods. It is imperative to produce more of what is supposed to be consumed in order to avoid wasting foreign currency. So in this book we're talking about boosting consumption through large-scale local production based on Lubumbashi's eating habits. This being the case with increased local production there is a need to break with the extroverted economy and significantly reduce the prices of many of these products on local markets.
