Ecotourism and Livelihood Diversification

Ecotourism is not a panacea; but it is apparently an alternative tool for livelihood enhancement if it’s managed well. Particularly developing countries like Ethiopia have realized the importance of this non-farm activity in combating poverty and conserving the environment. It is here where Wonchi Crater Lake Ecotourism came into existence thereby. The book has gone someway to investigate the contribution of ecotourism to local community’s livelihood diversification in rural Ethiopia Wonchi coupled with the assessment of the existing synergistic cooperation among all concerned stakeholders. Added to this the locals’ attitudinal difference over ecotourism development is discussed statistically. Generally the book gives an insight on how the contribution of ecotourism should best be improved.
