Ecuadorian Instapoets

On Instagram a new generation of poets known as Instapoets are in vogue with a genre that until recently only recruited followers among a minority audience. Young authors are those who have made their way into the contemporary poetic scene through the Internet and the use of social networks.The recipe for their success in their installations is the combination of a fresh direct and transgressive language with the ability to use new technologies. They believe that with Instagram they manage to transmit a certain closeness to the audience create empathy talk about deep emotions in a simple way and turn what is personal into a universal feeling (Quelart 2018).This book describes the process that young Ecuadorian writers go through to create their poems and storytelling and then publish them on Instagram. In the opinion of the Instapoets this social network is a very interesting medium and works spontaneously to show extracts from their work or even from the creative process of writing. For them the medium does not matter as much as the words. In their view being creative involves thinking about how to explore ideas and how to express them.
