About The Book

Simulation was chosen as staff preferred method of learning among oncology nurses. The quality improvement project showed simulation to improve staffs level of knowledge comfort and confidence during a chemotherapy spill. Each simulation required participants to look up current hospital policy material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the particular drug obtain supplies and follow policy to complete the proper clean up of the simulated spill. To complete this task communication and peer teamwork was essential. The time has arrived to change the old ways of training and listen to the evidence and train our nurses with new and improved methods of learning and the mastering of new skills. Appreciated hands-on learning I feel prepared to handle spill. Much more helpful than simply reading policy. I prefer to learn this way it makes it real I will remember this if it happens in the future.
